are old fish more susceptible to disease?

i have a really old freshwater parrot fish. hes pushing 11years old. seems he gets these weird fungus things growing on him time to time. hes has c few holes in his face near his eyes in the front of his face. i think thats normal but there was come kinda crap in one of them it cleared itself up. now it just looks a little irritated. i noticed today theres a white patch a little over from where the first problem was.

i treated for ich just to be safe. he dosent seem to be laboring or anything over it. i was just wondering if older fish get sick more often. my other fish are fine my tank has actually never been in better shape in the 12 or so years ive had it.

i forgot to ad ammonia 0 nitrite 0 nitrate 20. i do a weekly 50% water change and gravel vacuum. i just did one yesterday actually. i decided not to run carbon too for the first time ever since ive been keeping up with the tank so good. i also removed the 18" air stone i had. i have a large ocelot sword plant and the hob filter churns the water a bit. i also have a canister filter on the tank aswell.

I imagine older fish are more susceptible to disease, much like older people are....
