well, im definitely not an expert, but i would want to wait a couple weeks just to make super SURE they are not only not sick, but are not carrying anything on them, like whatever bacteria etc made their tankmates sick. then again, im kind of paranoid, so thats just me. :p good luck with whatever you choose though!

oh you were talking about the fish in the store? i was talking about the fish in your tank lol because the fish in your tank were exposed to the disease, so i think they might carry it even if they dont show signs of it. oh, and do they keep all those types of fish in the same tank at the store? because i dont know how your stores run there, but i know some of the fish stores around here dont really do thorough cleaning in their tanks, not even after sick fish have been kept there. you should try asking them i guess.

I would not buy fish from tanks with diseased or dead fish.

Most medications require a week to ten days of treatment depending on what the fish are being treated for.
I agree with Abby's Dad, I would not purchase these fish unless they would agree to hold them for two weeks minimum AFTER the treatment was concluded.

I agree with everyone else; usually how fish stores are set up, they usually have all the tanks set up via filter system together, so if 1 tank got sick, there is a high chance the others got infected *at least thats how some of my LFS are. Went to one and 2/3s of the tanks were medicated >_< scary stuff* I would wait or find another fish store, as the risk is too great.

well new fish come friday, and I could get those and I think they have different filter for the killies because I think they use peat.

is the water a different color? if its not a different colors its probably all on the same system. The lfs near me runs an entire rack on one filter. they just medicate everything when they get sick fish and jack the heat up to 82F. Makes me feel really bad for the non-sick fish but it gets rid of ick really quickly.

I would wait for new shipment, but note that if the fish are sick, they could have come like that from the supplier. My local LFS gets fish with ick all the time..
