Odd Mollusk in gravel bed

To make a long story short, I bought a Magnum 350 dual canister with a polishing filter. It used to come with a 'quick kleen' gravel vacuum attachment but the folk at Marineland discontinued it stressing water changes. Yes, I know, I do water changes but I would like a good way of sucking more gunk up then the siphon cleaner can get during said water changes..

Moving right along, I devised my own attachment and it was working very well. So well I noticed lots and lots of these small spiral shelled mollusks in the gravel bed. They are about 3/4 inch in length, the shell is sprialed to a point. (sorry, no pic). But they are all over the tank in the gravel. When looking at the tank you cannot see hide nor hair of them and everyone in the tank is happy so I am thinking they are not a problem, as of yet. Just wondering, does anyone else have them? Any experience(s) if you do? What are they?

Thanks.
(If I can get a pic next time, but they fall back very quickly and disappear very quickly).

Oh, now I understand what you meant by spiral to the tip. Yes, mts ia correct. Mts short for malaysian trumpet snails. Their.population is.influenced by how much you feed your fish so try not to overfeed to.keep their number.in check. They help prevent anaerobic pockets in your substrate since these do burrow a lot.
