Question nylon hose on filter intake damaging?

I have 9 new tiny cory cats that just hatched and they are small enough to get sucked into the filter intake. I placed a nylon pantyhose over the filter intake temporarily. Will this cause it to have to work harder or possibly burn out the pump?

congratulations on the new fry.
i think you'll be fine,it shouldn't restrict the flow that much.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

congrats on the fry, i hope you enjoy watching them grow.

i did the same thing a while back with no problems. one thing you need to do is take it off and clean it every couple of days or so because it gets clogged up real fast and you cant see the gunk on it till after you take it off or till you wait too long.
