That light is used for a Reef enviroment, and usually not FW or Planted. If you are looknig to use it for Planted FW, then look for a T8 or 6700k bulbs. Same for regular FW.

Cody, thanks for the reply! Now could you help me out with a little more direction on a better light in the same price range? I don't seem to find much in a t8. Also could I just switch out the 10000k lights for 6700k or wont that do? I have a 55 gal tank that is like 20some inch high I think. Thanks

216 watts over a 55 gal tank makes it a high light tank. Are you planning on injecting co2?

uummm.... guess maybe Im lost.... No plans for CO2. I don't currently have any plants but someday will, I thought you needed like 3-4 watts of light per gallon for a plant growth in a tank?! Someone help me out here! Give me some ideas!!!!!

If you're not going to plant it right now you can get a simple single tube, low wattage, T8 fixture for the moment and come back later to get your bigger, higher wattage fixture for plants when you want to start them. Until you plant your tank that big fixture is just going to be using up a ton of electricity for no good reason.
