not sure if this is the right place

what is a good reliable canister filter for a 72 gallon bowfront

I'm partial to Eheim filters. They don't use carbon and they are quiet.

Carbon is completely useless unless you feel the need to remove stains, tannins, chemicals, etc. I used it only to remove medicines dosed, no more, no less.;)

id go with the fluval fx5 ... the thinks a monster and its quite as anything

just because the guy with 4000 post ses its so... doesnt mean it is

The disadvantages of carbon with planted tanks is they remove the plant food from the water.
