Noob mistake number 1

So today I decided to take the prefilter off of my powerhead and rinse it off in a small bucket of aquarium water to clean it a bit. I pulled it off while the powerhead was in the aquarium like a dummy, and squeezed a ton of the gunk the filter caught back into the water.

I'm hoping all that means is cloudy water for a few hours. It's not going to mess up any of the water tests is it? I just did a PWC a day or so ago so I really don't want to have to do it again.

We all make silly mistakes. You're fine. Your filter should suck all that gunk back up without changing your parameters at all.

+1 to Lisa. I've done the same thing, too.

Thanks Lisa :)

I figured it wouldn't screw anything up but just wanted to make sure!

No sweat, it will be clean again, did something similar(i inverted the intake with the outtake while the filter was runing and all the gunk that was in the 1.5 meters long hose got right back in the tank). It looked like a shark used my tank as a toilet. 2-3 days tops it should look fresh and clean again, don't beat yourself up to much.
