No Nitrites Yet

Just as I thought ammonia might be lowering (as you can see in my other post)...it didn't and I just did a 50% water change to reduce it from .50 or so to .25.

My Question:

Was a little concerned about when my nitrites might pick up. I am not using any "quick cycling" products such as bio-spora as the majority of you guys said "usually" it doesn't work as well as it says but it's been exactly 11 days and I still have no readings of nitrites. Should i worry?

No need to worry. The aquarium cycle can sometimes take eight weeks or more, so no nitrite reading after 11 days is perfectly normal. Patience is key!

8 weeks :( alright thanks...was hoping i'd finish it about a month or so.

Appreciate it, thanks :)

I should have nitrite readings in a week or less shouldn't I? (4-5 days from now)

I am now in the process of a fishless cycle using ammonia. I also added filter media from an established tank. It took 15 days before I got a nitrite reading. Just hang in there, it will happen, sometimes it takes a while.
