I am worried that my nitrates are always at zero, clear~with the api master water testing kit? Is that bad?

Is the tank planted?

There is an issue with the liquid in the Nitrate #2 bottle separating. You MUST shake the bottle for a full 2 minutes prior to adding it to the test tube to allow the liquid to mix properly. Then shake the test tube for a minute.

Post #1 was made in a very old thread (from 2008), so I have moved it and the two response posts to a new thread.

I think AD's post (#3) was more in relation to the old thread data... if so, AD can edit as he sees fit.:)

To the nitrate issue, Tazman is correct. Also, do you have live plants? This can make a difference.

Last but certainly not least, welcome to Tropical Fish Keeping forum.

Byron.
