newly set up tank cloudy water what can it be

I just set up my 90 gal. a few days ago let it run for a day set the ph. The next day I was anxious to get some fish. So I went out and got 4 koi and 1 rope fish this was 2 days ago and my water is now cloudy. Is there anything I can do to find out what to do about it

It's just the natural cycling, I would test the water pretty much daily because those fish produce a lot of waste so just keep an eye on things.

Does it make a difference what kind of filter? I have an undergravel filter, I also have a top filter should I put that in there also or no.

A friend of mine has problems with cloudy water from time to time. She used a chem called P Clear. It forces small particles to clump together so they sink or are sucked into the filter. It won't tell you why your water is murky, but it could clear it up.

Generally we don't advise using chemicals in the water (except meds) because it doesn't get to the bottom of the problem and more often than not makes them worse. Just test your water, get back to us on the results and we'll go from there because there's probably really nothing to do but wait right now and perhaps do a few water changes if things get a little too icky in there.

Don't add any chemicals to your tank. It needs to go through the cycle. The cloudiness will clear up. You can do small, frequent water changes.

What are your water parameters? Did you test the water?
