I would say unless your tap water has alot of contaminates using bottled water would be a waste of money. (Alot of bottled water actually comes from municipal water sources anyway). Just use a good quality water conditioner to remove the chlorine or chloramines in your water.
ditto I have a friend who uses both bottled water for one or two tanks and tap for one or two others.
the ONLY difference, once the water has been treated, is the bottled water has a lower PH. and not by a huge amount. maybe once you have a good liquid test kit you could try taking bottled water and tap water, treating both, and running some tests on it!
Are you talking about the bottled water you find in most supermarkets, which has minerals added or are you speaking or reverse osmosis water which can be found in supermarkets or at most lfs's?
