Hello everyone :)
I've had goldfish for about 5 years now and know all about the basics (cycling, food, care etc.). I will soon be moving my 4 year old Comet into a much bigger tank and hopefully getting another goldfish friend for it as the tank it is now is not suitable for a goldfish. I don't want the old tank to be empty so I thought I'd try out tropical fish.
Now for someone who has never had tropical fish I have done a fair bit of reading on them and as I know about cycling I'm not a total newbie :P However, I'm no expert so I'm looking for some easy to care for tropical fish. The tank is only 22 litres (about 6 gallons) so I imagine I'll only be able to keep 1 or 2 fish in there max and I only want 2 fish max. in there because I want to keep it personal.
I'm thinking I may put a betta in there but would love a little companion for it. I would love to get a bottom feeder fish, something that is quiet and just likes to sit around and suck all day :P I think a betta and a fish like that would go well together.
So after all what I need to know is what tropical fish are good for a beginner with a small tank and that will hopefully get on with a betta. Perferably a little sucking fish like a bristlenose but I'm open to any suggestions.
