Hi everyone, i am new to this forum and new to keeping fish.
I have a diy split level plywood/glass aquarium that i made myself i have had it up and running about 7 weeks now and i am having cloudy water problems.
It will be cloudy/milky water kind of on and off, one day it will be reasonably clear the next 2 days will be hard to see the back of the tank its been on and off for about 2 weeks!
and is getting quite annoying
Can anyone point me in the right direction in clearing the tank or do i just have to wait and wait??
about my set up....
360 ltr tank
aqua pro 2sp external filter with ceramic rings, filter sponges carbon bags and filter floss
JAD 1400 ltr/hour internal filter
Air stone in the deep end to aid with water circulation
i started out with 2 zebra danios, 2 mountain minnows and 2 scissor tails, my local aquarium store advised it would be a good idea to cycle the tank with these in.
I regularly tested the water and when the readings for ammonia and nitrites finally went to 0 i gradually added 1 plec , 3 small silver sharks, 2 clown loaches, 2 silver catfish and 1 gourami all seem to be doing fine apart from the cloudy water.
i was slow to start doing the water changes as i didnt realise i had to during the cycling so it was about the 3rd week in before the first water change, i now do about 20% once a week with the conditioner
i just want the tank to be nice to look at and not so foggy at the back!
sorry if i have missed important details out it is getting late for me
any help with the matter will be greatly appreciated
many thanks .
