New Tank, No Fish, Cloudy.

hello all. I just got a 55 Gallon Aquarium and set it up. 4 days later it is very cloudy and there is no fish in there yet.

I went to the river here and collected some rocks to use in the tank. I Risned them off with warm water and placed them in the tank. then next nite i come home to find the tank very cloudy. is this something i should be worried about? Maybe a bacteria Bloom? I have added no food or anything to promote the bacteria yet but i'm not sure if they will still start to form and just die out or what. I removed a couple of the rocks now also because i thought maybe there might be some metals in it that caused the cloudy water.

Any thoughts or ideas?

Pretty normal for a 4 day old tank. Cloudiness is often seen in tanks all the way to the time they finish cycling.

As for the rocks, if you want to use them and know they are safe, put them in a small bowl and pour vinegar over them. If you see bubbles form and it starts to stream off them them then they will mess with your tank chemistry. It should be obvious if they have metals in them as they will have a bronze or rust color somewhere on them but they will react to the vinegar.

(Am pretty sure it is vinegar, if not, someone will correct me)
