New Tank

Well this is my second time on a forum but its been so long it all new to me again. Hopefully I don't mess anything up haha. And nice to meet you all. Anyways... I just upgraded from my 10 gallon tank, that I have had for 1-2 years, to a new 20 gallon tank. The ten gallon was given to me so I never had to go out and buy anything cycle it, so my three questions are:

1) If I use water from the old cycled tank how long will it take to get cycled.

2) When can I start to add starter fish?

3) How many watts do I need the heater to be on a 20 gal?

ok most important.. WELCOME :) glad you came back to the fold LOL....
second old water is just that old water and will not have any particular benifits to yur new syaytem... i take that this was a salt water 10 gallon so you know most of what you need to alredy, However< me being the pain that i am would suggest you start here http://www.tropicalfishkeeping.com/s...shwater-31955/ then after that i would say for a 20 gallon a hundred watt heater would be fine..... thats what i use in all of mine

Moving the sand and live rock from the 10 gallon to the 20 gallon will go a very long way to seed the new tank. In fact, you may not even have a cycle at all. I would transfer it all over, then add an additional 8 to 10 pounds of live or dry rock.

What are your livestock plans for the new tank?

It is actually a freshwater tank. And I suppose by livestock you mean fish? I though about trying some angels or barbs since I have done livebearers, zebra danios, neons, and even some krib chiclids.
