Hey, everyone, I really don't like being rude and just joining a forum to ask for help, but I'm hoping the lives in question may make up for it.
I very recently (about 36 hours ago) went to the store and purchased a 1.5 gallon tank, and 6 small goldfish ranging from 1-3.5 inches, unfortunately they did not make any comment about the complete uncompatibility.
I have not owned a fish, and did not realize that this tank would be unbelievably too small for these fish.
They have been very lightly blowing bubbles, at the top, it does not seem very frequent, but it is happening.
The tank has a small rock filter that has air go through it creating bubbles in a channel to the top, I don't know how well this filter is or anything, but I'm just trying to give the best description I can of the conditions.
All 6 of the fish are very actively swimming around, and don't seem sluggish in any way.
MY question here is that I can get a 10 gallon tank tomorrow from a friend of mine, but I don't know how long these fish seem to have in the terrible conditions I put them in.
Does anyone think they have little to no chance of surviving another 12-20 hours, or does it seem like they do have a pretty decent shot at it?
I would love to hear from anyone who is even slightly knowledgeable on the topic, as I really hate to think of torturing and killing 6 innocent and beautiful fish.
Thank you to anyone who may or may not help.
