New Small Aquarium Ideas?

Hey, I am new to fishkeeping, and I already have a 20g tank with 9 gold pristella tetras. I don't have much more room, but I would like to start another tank. Does anyone have ideas for a fun sub-10g tank? I was thinking of a 10g tank with a male auratus cichlid and some 1-2 females. How does that sound?

Just have 1 20g tank-9 Gold Pristella tetras... they're pretty nice. I'm thinking about adding some loaches too.

Oops. I thought they were smaller than they are. Fortunately, I found this out before I even bought the tank.

Yeah, good idea. How many do you reckon I could keep in a 10g?

You could have a bunch of those since they don't need a lot of room at all and some guppies or platys or rasboras or something of the sort. Just give the tank a head start to grow some algae. And thank you for asking before buying :)

Thanks. This looks like it's going to turn out to be a pretty sweet aquarium. I like the idea of the guppies, since I've had some before and I really like them.

I'm really glad you pointed out the overcrowding issue because I would have either felt really disapointed when I got to the store or really guilty when I got home and remembered how big my tank was. Thanks a bunch.

No problem :D I saw some sweet guppies in my LFS earlier, made me wish I didn't already have some other plans for my 29 gallon's remaining space. How many do you think you'll get?

I dunno, probably 2-3 to begin with... but yeah, I've seen some really cool guppy varieties. Can't wait to get it set up!
