Also heres a picture of my Whisper filter, I don't know what kind it is but bettababy when I looked up the filter you said it looks just like it only difference is this one doesn't have the cut out pieces on the bottom to let water in theres a seperate pump attach to it. On the pump it says this: "Bio Flow mini" AC115V 60Hz 4w listed 85E3 and hsa some thing on the pump I'm guessing to allow me to determine the flow rate. Heres some pics but kinda crappy

That filter looks very similar to the whisper 10i, and should work just fine... just make sure you have one on each end.

I wanted to ask, how are you intending to mount your divider in the tank so it doesn't move?
One idea for a divider that would allow for good circulation would be plastic canvas, with the wider holes in it, but it would have to be secured to the tank somehow for it (or any other) to stay in place. As for paint, there isn't one I know of that will be safe for in the tank. Your best bet is to not paint it and to just heavily decorate in front of it on both sides.

I'm still thinking if its gonna get divided, I just found another tank ( tall octagone ) tank that I may have house another betta, just can't find a light for it so I don't know what I'm going to be able to do.

Trying to see how I will have it divided cause there is no cut out peice on the plastic to be able to slid something through it so right now I'm a little puzzled. Might just do one in 10g and 1 in the other. Bettababy is there any fish I could try to house with the betta in the 10g? If I did the fake plant way can I still house snails and a shrimp or do they need live plants and a better filtration?

They have these at petsmart i'm not sure if they are any good as I haven't used them. I have heard people have had lots of success with them though.

Will a Betta kill a snail? I was thinking about getting some to help keep the tank clean. Also how many would be good enough in a 10g tank?

Also what about the shrimp? Bettas ok with them? Will they survive in a fake planted tank? or do they need the live plants?

Bettas won't kill the snails. As for shrimps, I think they will. Providing several plants though will keep them a little safer.
