New filter suggestions

Ok, I have a 125 gallon tank with a Filstar xP3 filter rated for 175 gallons and 350 gph. I have 2 small tiger oscars right now (and 2 small jack dempseys and 2 small bala sharks and a small pleco) and the filter seems to be adequate for now but I feel like when they get bigger they'll need extra filtration. So I'd like some suggestions for the extra filter. I was thinking about getting another Rena Filstar; it would probably be easier because the media would all be the same. But I'm open to other suggestions too. If there are other filters that use the same media but are better quality, easier to clean, etc. that's what I'm looking for. Thanks!

125 gallon tank:
2 Tiger oscars, 1 Electric blue jack dempsey, 1 Jack dempsey, 2 Bala sharks, 1 Firemouth, 1 Salvini, 1 Texas cichlid, 1 Pleco; All juveniles

29 gallon (in the works):
1 Blue ram, 1 Cockatoo cichlid, 1 Powder blue dwarf gourami, 1 Bolivian Ram, 8 Neon tetras, 4 Corydoras, 2 Bamboo shrimp, some ghost shrimp

how much are you looking to spend?
this will be the main factor in your next filter. while i could easily recommend a canister to you, if its out of your budget, then were back at square one.

Well, I spent about $150 on the first one, I would like to keep it at or below that for the second one. Price isn't a huge factor, quality is more important to me.

if youre interested in the best bang for your buck, you will want an Fx5. cant go wrong. however i believe even if you shop around, youre still looking at around $250

the other option is to go with a good HOB filter to go with your current filter, in which case, i wouldnt suggest anything other then an AC110. @ 500gph, it should be able to more then make up the difference youre looking for.
