As per the red plant i dont know much about them apart from on the whole they seem to need more light (i think) so worth looking into. Might affect placement etc of it. Though you do have those shiny LED's in there
what are those little foreground plants you've put in? Are they sustainable in an aquarium? I've found the ones a not so good lfs sold me will eventually rot in the aquarium so am looking to replace them asap and i'll just plant them in my house, as thats their intended use!
I wasn't going to put any red in, Kate thought we needed some colour. We'll see how they do.
Dwarf or mini swords.
I consider the whole plant setup a bit of an experiment. Ill get more of what does well and prune out what doesn't make it. I'm not interested in beating my head against the wall for a "favourite" plant. I know that plants do better in groups with other plants of the same species (i couldnt pull the study for reference but it has more to do with a symbiotic relationship rather than competitive) and on the river bottoms that's how they grow... Not very often are they so mixed that there aren't at least clumps growing together... although that has to do with how they typically propagate too.
First fish later this morning. Oscar the Betta.
Little guy will be lost. In there.
