That's a great idea! I should do that, in fact I think I will. What type of paint did you buy? Flat, glossy? Yes, I'd love to see pics!

I was just thinking of re-doing my black poster board I have on mine, but getting the right measurements is always a pain, and taping it on etc. Love the paint idea!

look forward to the pictures.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

I like the black background. My only fear of painting, means I can never change it. Hummm.

It's hard to tell, because it looks a bit different in each pic. Fish prefer a lower light, but you need to look at the bulb you're running. Guidelines are for a 6500 Kevlin rating, and any below that will likely only grow low light plants. I think at 6500K, you can do some moderate growing plants. Post in the planted tank section and see if you can get more help there with lighting.

I have low light tanks, and my plants are doing fine. Vallesenria, crypts, swords should do fine. It looks like a nice, natural tank, and black backgrounds are nice!

Very nice! I also want a black background, but don't want to paint it. I think I'll just do poster boards or craft paper.

55 gallon planted tank, starting over!!!( looking crappy, needs a major rescape)
