With your situation a red tailed shark may or may not work because as i said it is a bottom feeder that looks like a shark and with the pleco and lobster already competing for food it is not such a wise idea to house them all in the same tank.and red tailed sharks are known for thair ability to be as ferocious as cichlids and thats why they can be kept togather but with all the other fish your best bet is some cichlids with your lobster and pleco.but it is crucial you dont forget that some fish need different water conditions than others and you always have to do your homework on any and all fish you have or plan to have in a tank.and about your heater.you can take it back and tell them its faulty because heaters are usually pretty accurate so with it that far off you want to refund it for a new one....just some bad luck it seems.
