I would check at your local mulch yard, or serious landscaping supply store (not lowes or homedepot), someplace that has a stone yard.

These places have all sorts of different rocks in all shapes and sizes most of them will let you dig around and just buy a few rocks.

I bought enough rocks from my local place to aquascape my 55 gallon with many caves and places to hide, for $2.32 . For that I got like 20 nice sized stones.

My local fish store sells the exact same stones around $5 each

question:

if you use sand do you need to use that vacuumy thing to vacuum it like you do with gravel?

also if i get a 44lb bag of sand would that be enough for my 30 gal?

i hate not being able to edit my posts >.< :(

which do you guys prefer to make bubblies in your tank?
there are actually bubble walls that are a stone with holes in the top that ive seen
and one where its long and you can bend it and you put your own holes with a pin

which do you prefer?

i had another question but i forget what it was >.<

Goof Off? to get the paint?

i got the glue off i took a face cloth and put a little bit of peroxide on it
worked like a charm.

havent tried to get the paint off though

upon futher inspection i think it is glass since the top rim says "All Glass" on it
wouldnt that mean its an All Glass product thus the aquarium be glass? :P

i remember my other question!

i dont have a filter for my 30gal but i have some extra stuff lying around

would it be fine i used my old 20gal filter my old 5gal filter and the sponge filter thats in my 5gal right now?
like i think the three filters would do decent filtration no?

my 5 gal currently has an Elite Hush 10 which is for 10-15gal tanks and the sponge filter so i figured if i took out the sponge filter it would still be fine

Yes, you still use a gravel vac to clean the sand. The fish poop will lay right on top of the sand rather than work it's way down like in gravel. So you just hover the siphon right over the sand about 1/2" or so instead of shoving it all the way in. Also, use a chopstick or you hand or something to stir the sand once in awhile to keep it from compacting and from getting anaerobic pockets.

44 lb bag of sand will be plenty for your 30 gallon.
