Maintaining water quality is about water changes, proper tank cleaning, not overstocking, and just good maintenance practices, not chemical additives.

Any other alternatives are not as suitable as a gorgeous betta ..... i don't think any other kinds of fishes can adjust in such a tiny place

it would be stretching it but a dwarf puffer gets to be around 1" but they go for 3-5 gallons per dwarf puffer so it could be ok add 4 pond snails he will eat them and they will multiply, make sure you have a planted tank!
