New 29 G Cichlid Tank

Alright I just got a 29 G tank for my birthday like 2 days ago. I cycled it with some of the water from the old tank and added some quick cycle liquid to it.
I have 2 Labidochromis caeruleus and 2 Pesudotropheus Acei in it. If you read my previous post on these Cichlids they are still Juviniles and about 2 in. long. The tank has live plants and artifical ones also. I have not experienced any aggression from these fish at all. The Acei's are possibly trying to mate already. But I'm still having trouble sexing the Labidochromis Caeruleus. I'll try to put up some pics of the tank and the fish. Anddo Acei normally change color according to their enviornment? Because when they are near my gravel they are like a very dark blue. and when they swim in open water they change back to the silvery color with faint blue stripes. And its not like I walk away then they changed. They change back and forth in front of my eyes.

Umm, hate to break it to you but the water from your old tank will not cycle your new tank, and the liquid in a bottle is not likely to help a great deal. You're going to have to cycle this tank like normal and pay a lot of care since you're now cycling with fish.

The paramaters have been stable and havnt gone anywhere for the past 2 days.
Also I have plants in there too.
I've always done things this way,
I think I'll be okay.

2 days is not enough time to see much of anything. Give it a couple more days.

hi
you can always put filter media from the other tank into the new one.
and as for agression, you probably won't see any yet,as they are small.
this will change as they mature, and you will get agression with the labs no matter what.
you may have to wait for the black face of the lab to appear before you get a correct sexing.

when you set up a new tank, hide an extra
sponge or two behind some decor, that way you have
something seeded for you next filter.

Nothing has budged today at all. still the same paramaters as the past 2 days.
I have a neighbor who goes to auctions all the time ant told me he could pick me up a stand and 55 G tank for around $10. I want to see how I can handle a 29 G for a while and I will go to the 55 G If I need too. But that will be a few months.

Bigger tanks aren't really any more difficult to take care of. There's a bit more water lifting involved but overall it's not hard. If I knew someone who could get me tanks and stands for that kinda money well, my wife would probably divorce me.

Not really irrational. The load just isn't as high as most people think. If you wouldn't be worried about three or four average sized guys standing on a four foot section of floor there's no reason to get overly worried about a 55 gallon tank.

I really wouldn't want to be in a house that the floor would colapse if 4 or 5 people stood next to eachother!! I think the tank will be fine. Got any friends to test it out .

20 gallon long: 3 adult Neolamprologus similis + about 11 fry of various ages; low light planted tank
20 gallon long:2 freshwater dwarf puffers (Puff Puff and Poofer); medium-light planted tank
10 gallon: 1 male betta named Wormy; low light planted tank
10 gallon: 1 male betta named Dante; low light planted tank
2, 5.5 gallon tanks that are currently empty (I see more fish on the horizon )
