In my humble opinion rosy barbs and congo tetras would grow too large for 29 gal and would appreciate much more swimming area. Judging from fish you currently have ,I have doubts that the german blue or gold rams would do well in the long term. they need soft acidic conditions with ph values not too much above 7.0 and the bolivian ram might be a better choice.

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.

angel i like the idea of shrimp but wouldn't they be better off in one of my 10's or even one of the spare 20's i have? i know the 29 is not a huge tank but i am thinking more along the lines of single species fish (may be two)perhaps with a bit of spunk to them and if not agressive then a bit more active than what i have had previously.... mmmm considering tiger barbs.... maybe 8-10 of them with a respectable shoal of corries...

They're actually Crayfish, grow to a size of 2"-2.5" each and having a gang full of them in a 29 would be awsome. Or just a few these and some Killi fish?
OR African Dwarf Frogs set up for you?

Yea I keep eying back & forth with the tiger barbs too, I'm at a loss really how I wanna stock the 55...
