I in the past I had 20 gal fish tank but due to the move had to abandon it. Now I'm trying to go for 55 gal 48X13X20 and my question is.... 48 is good for the fish to swin and stuff but....Isnt it a little thin for a planted tank?... I mean 13 inches is not that much.
My second question is.....I dont want to spend 500$ on the fancy stand and my question is.... would simple metall frame stand be enough for 55 galon tank?

Third question...
In the store I have this aquarium kit for sale 200$ 55 gal tank + AquaClear 70 power filter + 200W heater + double light fixture. Is this a good deal ?

Thanks guys

Hi and welcome aboard.

You seem to have quite a good deal on $200. A simple metal frame should be ok as long as you know how much weight it can support. I also used that for my two large tanks.:)

13 inches is indeed thin but you can still try a planted tank though. Use vallisnerias for background plants.

Do you think that I can maybe put Cryptocoryne ciliata on the back instead? I like them more.
That's your personal choice.
Stand seems to be welded together and painted over
That's exactly what I have.:) Concentrate on the centre of the frame where the weight of the tank is likely to be more concentrated otherwise you'll see bars on the centre sagging.:shake: The uneven layout will caused tank leakage through the bottom glass.
