...if not, I'd leave well enough alone...just move your fish over to the new place in their 10 g aquariums and go from there...

if i move the two ten gallon tanks to the house, i will have to break down and re-setup both, losing bacteria and sending those tanks into a mini cycle...right?? why not just get the new 55 up and running at the old house, getting the bio filter in place...than move that tank as normal? I just feel like setting breaking down both tens, and waiting for a brand-new fresh 55 to get ready, could be too much stress. I am really stressing myself haha. thank you all for your help, and please...keep the comments coming. I love the panty hoe idea!!!!

The way I see it, is you're going to have to break the 55 gallon tank down anyway to move it, so what's the point in starting it now? You said that you are only moving 15 minutes away so it's not going to be that big of a deal to transport the fish. Have you tried asking the people who are in the new home now if they'll let you advance with an aquarium? (Never know, you just might get lucky.)

This is kind of a long shot, but you can probably drain some of your current aquarium water into 1 gallon jugs and move some of it that way instead of losing all the goodies and it will even make the new 55 gallon tank cycle faster.

If you are using new gravel in the new 55 gallon tank, then I would say go ahead and cycle it. You can at least get that gravel and maybe a new filter cycled by then. Otherwise, it sounds like pantie hoes and tuperware.
