You didn't miss anything, bar the point.
Your balas are always going to be skittish etc because they are lacking what they need. A 6-8ft tank and a much larger group.
Same with your clowns.

You can go ahead and add new ''centre pieces" and further crowd your already crowded tank. But what you should really do is fix the issues you have already.
Balas are probably one if not my favourite fish. Do I have them in a tank/group too small? Nope. Do I even have them when I don't have the right conditions? Nope

they are fine i know they should be in a group but i cant get rid of them and my tank is over crowded are you sure becuase it looks empty to me too small for full grown bala yes but not all my fish as they swim now or in the next year or two
