A few questions: Are you well versed about the nitrogen cycle? What are your ammonia, nitrites and nitrates concentration? Do you know what cycled means?

Not really. Through my experience, "Cycled" entails setting up the aquarium, and running it as if fish were in it, for a few days. That has worked for me in the past.

Unfortunately that is not what cycling is. Cycling is a 4-8 week long process where beneficial bacteria grows in the filter. I suggest you research more about the nitrogen cycle before getting any other fish.

1 dGH = 17.8 ppm

So his GH of 425 ppm = 23.8 dGH

When I got home from work today, I found my green terror lying on the gravel-dead! So I am going to cycle my aquarium for a few weeks, then stock it.

Just make sure you do tons of research on the fish before buying them. You don't want something like this to happen again :)
