A good example of unintended cosequenses just came back to me- Back when I was in highschool someone caught a pirahna in a pond in a city park. Of course the city immediately drained the pond so noone's kids would be eaten by a school of pirahnas. A couple days later someone who actually knew something about fish told them the "pirahna" was actually a pacu. There is no telling how many fish died, not to mention the money spent, because someone was too "goodhearted" to just flush an unwanted fish.
