How do you fix a chip in a tank?

I'm assuming its on the outside, they do have some glass filler stuff, I think normally used for windshields this would probably work, but results will vary, might just be easier to make the back the front and the front the back if possible though. Chips as long as not extremely deep shouldn't pose much of a crack risk.
