My new fish

Ok so i just purchased the last couple of fish i will put in my tank I know my tank is sorta overstocked but the fish are very compatable and i have drifwood and plants in the tank
So here are my fish-tell me what you think
3 neon tetras
1 male fancy guppy
1 female fancy guppy
1 glass catfish
1corry catfish
1 snail
The tank is a 4 weeks old 5 gallon minibow runnin a millenium 1000 power filter and a in tank spong filter

keep a close check on the guppy population. definately do-able but don't slack on maintenance.

Are you saying my guppies will mate?-If they do mate then i will take the babys out and sell them for like a quarter to a freind of mine.
Also i do not slack on maintainece i actualy sorta enjoy it :D

guppies give live birth and spawn like rabbits. as long as you maintain it well you should hopefully do alright.

Yeah you should be okay, especially if you're giving the fry to a friend. Guppies do breed constantly, but since you only have 1 female the cycles will be far enough apart to not be a huge problem, so long as you're factoring in the constant breeding. I enjoy watching my guppy fry grow, I'm about 2 weeks away from being able to put them in a community tank safely!

Sounds like you have an awesome tank though, if you have a digital camera be sure to post a pic!

Glass catfish will need to be kept in shoals, not singly or in pairs. To keep them singly is impractical.
They will easily pine away and therefore, will not last long.
Add your neons by 6. 3 is not enough IMO.

blue i cant buy any more neons or glass catfish
I would love to but my tank is not big enuff.
my glass cat has been very shy he did not eat the other day so do you think if i buy one more glass cat he will be alright?

Is there any way i can hand feed him so at least he will survive intill i get my 20 long around christmas?

cause he dident eat so much as a flake the first feeding :(


OH and by the way the neons are doing very well blue I think 3 is enuff for now

actualy blue i dont think he will survive in my tank.I just read a article about them and it said they cant be cept singularly :(
Do you think the lf i purchase him from can take him back for a month or two?

I have decided that i will return the glass fish tomorrow
i called them and they said they can take him :D
But i here that guppies are herbevors what is the best way to suplement there need for vegies?
Blanched greens cliped to the side of the tank?
sea weed bits?
alge waffers?
or my live plants?-I have seen them nibling on them?
