Are my fish eating?

Got another clueless beginners question. I've got complete flake food for the cherries, the two smaller fish eat and spit the flakes back out is this how they eat or do they not like the food? Bertha eats the flakes no probs.

You fish may have not adapated to the new environment, they might be still in shock or scared.

Its like, if you instantl teleported into jail and then a bowl of food was put infront of you, would you eat it?

yes I crumbled the flakes as initially I thought it was cos they were 2 big. I thought after 4 days they'd be settled and they look happy enough they're very playful, just have to wait and see, let you know what happens.

hi
you could always buy some frozen daphnia, defrost in a cup
of aquarium water and feed to the fish, they'll munch that
with no problem at all. :)

That's good to know thankyou.
I thought they must be eating something cos they're pooping plenty! infact I think I've been over feeding, down to 2 very small feeds a day, got ammonia problems now, getting advice on another thread (I think that's what you call it).

Well, fish will strike at food and spit it back out if they aren't hungry, it's hard to resist the urge to eat even if they're not hungry anymore. It sounds like they're eating a few bites and then doing to spitting out routine.
