it has been a month or so since i got my 25 gallon aquarium.so i got one filter.i dont know how to explain it but the filter which sucks in the water is working it has some noise but there is another tube like thing which pumps water back to the aquarium and that is not working. the water getting cloudy but the fishes are swimming normally please help .
thank you in advance
take the filter apart and clean it in a bucket of tank water or dechlorinated tap. Make sure to fully disassemble the filter. It will have an impeller and you want to check this and make sure it is not jammed. Rinse any sponges/cartridges in tank water do not replace them with new ones or you may risk a mini cycle.
Also do not run a filter that is not pumping water. It is a good way to burn out the motor. If you can give more information about the filter(type/model) we can offer more accurate information.
Can you be a bit more specific about the filter you are using - brand, model number, etc? If you aren't sure of that information, posting a picture may help us identify that information for you. Has it been running since the tank was set up and, if so, has it been cleaned/had maintenance done in that time?
Sometimes you have to give the impeller a little jump start. I do this by sticking a long, narrow object next to it and giving it a very quick nudge. Also, be sure the filter is mostly full of water before restarting it. You might have had just the slightest power interruption and that is enough to stop the impeller in many instances.
oh the only thing which was written in english was kotobuki i assume its the fliters brand ? if you know what filter this is how do i clean it and solve the problem

I am intrigued by what appears to be the intake for this filter (boxy thing on right) - is that what it came with? I only ask because at first glance I thought it looked more like a powerhead than an intake structure. Does the black boxy item have it's own power cord or is the only power for the filter run to the outside canister? Was it purchased new in box or as a used item that came with no owner's manual, etc?
Was it working properly and then that changed or has it never functioned properly?
sounds like there is air in the filter still. if there is air in the canister it will fail to pump water back into the aquarium and sound as if it is still working but will be a little bit louder then normal. also if there is a valve to close the water off when cleaning/doing water changes make sure this is turned on as well. another thing i noticed is the filter itself is rather high in location. if possible try placing the filter below the aquarium and maybe lowering the intake tube farther down in the water might help as well.
i dont even know. i can hear some noise when i come near the tank and when i touch my aquarium glass i can feel the vibration. only one of the machine has a wire and that is the one which sucks the water into the big box thingy :-? .so do you advice cleaning the aquarium ? . if you see my picture there is a tube like thing which pumps back the water to the aquarium, this tube is the thing which is not working i think . my filter should be working as there is noise and there is slight vibration in the glass
the box thingy does not have a wire it just shares the power from the the other device in the aquarium . and that wire is the only wire.the filter was new not used it use to work a week ago before i realised that the tube was not working .it did come with a manual but it was all in japanese !
The power head(black box inside tank) is what you should look at first. Here is a video that should help
Most powerheads are similar. It should twist open. You want to clean the impeller as that is what spins and pumps the water. When reassembled make sure you get most the air out of the powerhead.
I just had to do this yesterday on my 48(or 46 i think its 48I don't even remember my tank size and I just got it lol)
Took it apart and somehow the impeller had my hair in it and jammed it. Take your filter apart. It's annoying to do but could be a very easy fix.
