I think with tunnels and caves you can really get away with this.

What kind of Bichir is it? Sang was suggesting an Ornate Bichir. She owns one and thinks a Gray would be too small to live with an aro.
The risk is too great to put an Aro with a Gray. Grays only get to be about a foot. An Aro gets bigger than that. The ornate is a good one but it's not the only one out there.

Polypterus weeksii (weeks' bichir) is one to look at it as well. Stay away from the Congo Bichir. I believe that would grow too big even for a 125 gal.

Yeah I am not sure if the Dinosaur bichir is for me. I kind of want a little bit more rare of one. I might get one tonight at petsmart though.

If you intend to keep it with your aro please please don't. It's be food for the aro eventually. There are a few other species but I can't bring them to mind. Just do some research into the different Bichir out there.

These one is an appropriate size: Saddled Bichir (Polypterus endlicheri endlicheri) - Seriously Fish

Also if your tank is at least 6 feet long(preferably more) you may be able to get away with a Congo now that I think about it. But it needs to also be very wide. It gets over 3 feet long though.

Max size for them reported is 14 inches. He's still a bit on the small side.

Kind of cruel to keep Ornates together like that. Ornates in generally do not mind the company of other species of Bichir. They do not however put up well with being around each other. Even if they don't appear to be stressed the stress is there. You are forcing them to go against their nature and put up with living with each other.
