didn't bearwithfish just move recently? I wonder if he would have suggestions.

(side note: we've been thinking of buying a house and one of my biggest reasons for not wanting to is moving the fish tanks! but it can be done...)

I have moved with fish before several times (the longest being traveling from NY to NC by car with a fancy goldfish named Woody and the shortest being 90 minutes with my 55 gallon community tank).

It really isn't that difficult if you plan ahead (which you are doing). The one thing I would suggest is get a power converter for your car and run a couple of air-stones into the buckets with the fish. You never know when you are put in a situation where you 4 hour ride becomes 12 hours due to traffic, construction, flat tire, etc.
