I just spent over an hour typing about the gently-used, but still in good working condition 55 gal tank that I picked up on 05-24-09. But it never was posted. Have already sent an email to the webmaster, praying that he/she can successfully retrieve it. Email was long and important, but unfortunately I cannot remember everything that I typed.
I will try to summarize.
The tank was not what I expected. Although I already knew ahead of time that the sale was for the tank only, no hood, stand, or accessories included, but I was expecting a squared tank. Instead the 55 gal is rectangled...I mean really
rectangled. As in, 48 inches (4 ft) long!
The measurements are:
48" L X 20" H X 13"W (depth)
The tank looks bigger to me, but perhaps that is because of its length.
Could this be a reptilian tank or do fish owner use this size for their aquatics?
How do you get the gallonage of older tanks that do not come with papers, receipt, or sticker? Will I just have to count the gallons as I fill the tank up with water?
Is this a good shape for back & forth swimming motion for the Calicos?
How about real estate? Does it provide adequate space capacity for the quantity of Calicos involved?
5 fish that are each 5" long.
Also, I talked about aquarium placement in my original post.
The 55 gal is a perfect fit to my daughter's long 6-drawer dresser. This is where the pervious owners placed the tank in their home. They assured me that I would not have any issues doing the same. What do you think?
Her bedroom is
upstairs, but since we had a queen size waterbed up there before, I am comfortable that the floor will support the fill 480 - 500 lb weigt of the aquarium.
God, I do hope the webmaster can find my original post. There were more questions that I typed, but for the life of me I cannot remember them all. I just want to cry!
