Might be getting 2 new tanks! ideas?

I found someone offering 2 tanks on Freecycle-
1 is 29G and 1 is a 10G...

10G I can use for shrimps, tetras, or similiar... but I've only ever had 10G's...

What should I do with the 29G?

(It doesn't have a lid, so nothing that jumps... right now I only have a lid on 1 of my 10G's)

Maybe I could keep a pair of my green terror fry that I'm trying to sell and let them grow out and keep them?

I personally like the idea of large schools of tiny tetras... maybe going for a south american biotope (since my tap water has a PH of around 6)?

Can I keep a pair of angels in a 29G with some other small tetras/characins?

Should I follow the inch per gallon rule?

Wow, I'm like a kid in a candy store... never had a "big" tank before. :p
Feel like such a n00b.

Seems like you need a little focus, lol.

29G isn't all that much bigger than your 10g's. You could probably have 2 or 3 small schools (6 or 7) of some small tetras like neons/cardinals and the like in addition to a couple bottom feeders and the typical cleanup crew.

29g might be a bit small for angels, and I'd try to avoid keeping small tetras with angels as well.

Hope this helps!

I think 29g is a little on the small side for angels and green terrors.

Have a look at this:

I think the first thing you should consider are your source water's pH and hardness and work from there.

Because of the tank's size I'd not put Angels nor Green Terror in it.
What about a pair of blue ram's and 1 school of Tetra's you like for it? Or if you wanna try your hands on something new try some Killi fish

And def agree set up a nice shrimp farm with a sponge filter with the 10g Lid is no issue, just buy a think small piece of plexi glass at your homestore and done or if you don't wanna hassle with the cutting buy these (that's what I did for my shrimp farms) https://www.petsolutions.com/Default...temID=15929016

Well, maybe make it a dwarf puffer breeding setup?

I want to get something that I can't fit in a 10G.

Maybe 3 or 4 coolie loaches with just a betta and a small tetra group (something tiny, maybe ember tetras would be too wide for the betta to eat? I know they'll suck down a neon...)

Source water is acidic. most of what I'm heard in this topic I already know, just got exited. lol.

As far as keeping angels with tetras, I've seen tanks with them together... but now that I think about it they were 60 gal tanks... big difference.
