Wink Meet Earl!

After my Cardinal nightmare I was afraid to post anything when I received Earl 10 days ago, but he's doing fine so far *knock on wood*

I have a 10g set up that's supposed to cycle for shrimp. I explained my husband how realistically I need a well established tank before I'd feel safe to add shrimp in it and mentioned over dinner how it would be too cool if I could find a fish of which I would only house ONE and "use" it to establish then tank for me and then move it to the community tank with the Rummy's in the hallway...Well next day hubby came home with a bag...and there was Earl Personally I'd have never gotten a Betta but for one I thought my hubby trying to help was too sweet to start with and Earl is REAL pretty and a goofy one too.

So now Earl has to leave behind some good poopy business for me and then he can move either to the 45g or 55g one day (And hubby is SET on wanting to get him a wife " no one should live alone")

He's very pretty!! I hope you aren't planning on having Earl and his new girlfriend livie together. Males and female bettas should not be housed together except for breeding purposes only.

Earl is a pretty boy! He might just work out in the shrimp tank.
I have a betta in with my cherry shrimp, never see him bothering them, but all bettas are different.

I just think the 10g is too small for him and no other fishy company!? I'm trying to read up with them in communities with tetra/ rummy these type fish and then let him live in the 45 or 55g (which ever fish he'd get along with better really).

You think its gonna help the shrimp if he's living and doing business in there for a while to help establish it? I sure hope so, so I can get some cutie shrimp from you know where

What do you mean? He'll move in with the other fish to have a fishy community get together
