I'm in the middle right now of deciding what I want to do. Do I want to change to a salt tank? Do I want to get rid of the 55g all together and keep my eyes out for a bigger tank? IDK!! Another thrift store had a 100g corner tank, hood and stand for $100. The deals are out there...just gotta find them. How much would that hood sell for used? I got an idea of how much it would be if it were new.

I really don't know how much it would sell for used because apparently that company went out of business. The little shreds of information I can find seem to indicate that they were pretty top of the line in terms of PC lighting for saltwater tanks, and that there has been something of a vacuum in this department since they folded. I couldn't find a 48" version of the light anywhere online, but 72" versions run something like $500. I imagine you could probably get $250 for it.

However, it sounds like a fantastic light for a reef tank. Replacement bulbs are still available. If you're really interested in starting a reef tank, well, you've already got one of the most expensive items out of the way.
