So I redid my 8 gallon bowfront a few days back and I like how it turned out, but I feel like something is off so I was hoping to get some feedback on how it looks and hopefully some suggestions on how to improve it :)

Tank is home to:
3 Baby Assassin Snails
7 Pygmy cories (corydoras hastatus)
4 Salt and pepper cories (corydoras habrosus)
1 Betta who thinks hes a cory

I'd like to add some more cories but Im beginning to think it might be too much.
Maybe I'll throw in some of my cherry shrimp from my colony...
Input on possibly more tankmates would be appreciated too ^^

Current Plant Life includes:
rotala macrandra
rotala rotundifolia
Sagittaria platyphylla
hygrophila polysperma (Not sure on this one)
anubias barteri
unknown anubias
crypt wendtii
A red unknown plant
java fern

Now pictures!

Also adding the red unidentified plant if any of you want to take a crack at it.
I was told it was a hardy foreground plant but eeeeeh.

Nice tank. You did well with only 8 gallons of space.

I'd suggest a backdrop... nothing with pictures, flat black or some dark single flat colour, no gloss. It'll get rid of the rear wall glare and make the green pop. Even just bristol board would do, although it won't stand to getting wet so if you're not messy while playing in the tank you should be OK.

Those red things... I suspect that they need lots of light and, if you happen to like them, move them out from under any edges. A grouping of dwarf swords, four or five probably come in a bunch, out front and together would break the sand up a bit more.

You've already got a pretty large fishload for the tank size, I'd say leave what you have as well enough.

Thank you!
I hadn't even thought of a backdrop, I hardly ever use them. I'll give it a try on this tank and see how it looks.

I'll probably move the red things then, I was told they were low light but I can't see them as that. They're really red and just look high light to me.
I like the sand as it is though, its where I drop the food so the cories are all over it and it makes it easier to clean.

Kind of what I was thinking, if I do add anything it'll probably be a few cherries and agent will more than likely have a nice snack.
