Hey, this is going to be (I hope) my first planted tank. I only had bulbs in my other tank, and my pleco kept grazing down all the new sprouts. So I'm looking into buying full grown plants. Any that will survive a growing pleco? Especially any that will grow on driftwood? And does anyone know of a good place to buy driftwood? Please help!

good quality pollutant free driftwood can be found at any petstore and is exspensive and overpriced anywhere you look (even more so online)

could look into java moss stuff loves to grow on anything and everything, your pleco sounds like hes going to munch on any live plants, theyll mow down ones with little leaves and devor the large broad leave plant. if you want plants that he wont eat there arent any. i would suggest moving him seeing how hes not going to let you have a successfull planted and how eventually he will outgrow the tank.

Need to know lighting that you have what type and how many watts are you pushin before we can rec anything.

Here's a page for good online plants (if you check out my tanks, that's their plants).

Hardier plants that aren't easily taken down by your fish are some like: Hygrophilia, Swords, Anubias, Vallis (cause they root down super fast).

What size tank do you wanna plant? Just a few plants or more jungle style?

Thanks... I really need some more money so I can get driftwood and fish and plants and lots of other stuff for my aquariums. Trying to sell some candles on ebay isn't working, I've only got about 4 views so far.

Sweet Aquatics seems to be the cheaper and easier solution. Now I just have to find another home for my pleco...

That's where I always get mine, since I so far made orders there to plant several tanks at one time, I never paid shipping neither. Been real satisfied with the quality I got from them each time and the quantity is great...Works for me (You can see the plants from them in my 2 new 10g's and the New 45&55)

Do you have any petsmart petco around you your Pleco could go to? Cause I know you didn't like the LFS.
But you can still plant meanwhile, but mine 45&55 you see planted have a pleco in it.

There's a Petsmart in my area, but it's a good 20 minute drive away. I could maybe arrange for them to take the pleco, don't know if they can take it since they're a commercial chain, but it's worth a try.

Call ask for the fish person in charge there, they might. Good luck!!!
