I love my bristle nose. He/she is very active and always comes to the glass.

Just make sure it is a species that remains small, say 4-5 inches max. An 18+ inch pleco would destroy a 44g hex tank.

In addition to plecos (planetcatfish.com is an awesome source), you can also look at peckoltias. Many of them stay small enough to be kept in a tank of that size.

125 - BGK, chanchito cichlid, pictus cats, silver dollars, palmas bichir
125 - cichlids (severums, bolivian rams, chocolate), rainbows ( turquoise, red), loaches (angelicus, zebra, kuhli and horseface), plecos (BN, RL and clown), denison barbs, tiretrack eel, pearl gouramis, betta
90 - Congo tetras, african knife, upside down cats, spotted ctenopoma, kribensis, delhezzi bichir
2.5 - betta

Get an l46 pleco, you pretty much have to. Anything that isn't l46 is really not that interesting and you will get bored with it.

L46 are carnivores and one of the most expensive fish you can buy, when someone asks for plecos I assume algae eating plecos but if they really want to foot the bill on it....

That would make sense. Haven't you heard? We make yogurt, not sense.
