live brine shrimp
Does anyone raise brine shrimp to feed their freshwater fish? I have raised them in the past and am wondering if it is a good idea for feeding a small community tank.
You can but I find frozen is much easier. Brine shrimp is a great treat and the fish go nuts for them, but not the greatest nutrition. I feed brine shrimp after weekly water changes to reward the fish for the disruption to their home.
Father Knows Best but Abbey knows everything! I once knew everything, then I asked one question.

Live baby brine shrimp are great for fry and a real treat for most fishes; however, as Dad said, frozen is a lot easier beyond that. If you have the time and interest, by all means, go ahead and give it a try. I think it is beneficial to give fishes a little hunting excersize every now and then.
