I think you have room in your tank for a school of 6 of a smaller fish. I love my Rummynose that are in with my angel. Harlequin Rasboras are also great. Or maybe something like Lemon tetras.

Just a word on the rainbow fish, I had 3 male Boesemani in my 55 and they are very active and greedy feeders. They might be a bit too active for your angel and gourami which would appreciate a more docile tankmate. Don't get me wrong, I loved my Boes. They are gorgeous fish but, like I said, very active and may stress out some of your fish. The Neon Dwarf rainbows (Praecox) might be ok but I've not kept them in with angels or gouramis. Mine were in with a Severum and got eaten before I could get much experience with them. They do stay smaller than some other rainbows but I'm not sure of their activity level.

Alright, thank you very much for the info

Yes, I wasn't planning on Boesemani. If I did get rainbows, which were and still remain just a thought, it would most likely be one of the smaller species like the Neon or Featherfin. But I'm not even sure if my LPS has those.
I'm not much of a tetra person honestly.....never have been. Had them and had Rasboras, neat fish but I've been there and done that, you know?
I'd been also considering cherry barbs or danios.....but again, theres issues with the feeding and such. I'm not overly worried about my Gourami, he will hold his own if he has too....but even though my Angel is rather large he's a bit more sweet, I'd be more worried about him. I dunno how active Cherry Barbs are but I was considering them because I hear they aren't as nippy as the Tiger....Any input?
I also remember my brother pointing out Balloon Mollies on our last visit....If I ask him he may head for those, so I'm a bit curious, would a trio of them work? Not worried about fry, as I've said before, I've got fish that will snatch them up. May end up getting all males anyway if he wants them....depends

Still open to any suggestions/advice

I think cherry barbs would be fine. I've never kept them but my sister in law has with her angel with no problems. I think danios might be too hyper. Never kept mollies so can't comment on them.

Always been a fan of Tiger and Cherry Barbs. I wonder if the albino Cherries will school with regulars? Juuuust curious....

I've kept molly before, but never the Balloon variety....just curious on opinions, brother thinks I should put them on my little list Hes so cute x3 From what I read they stay smaller then most molly too....

May come down to what I can afford as well...depends on how expensive the Cherries are. If I can't afford a decent school may not go for them...

from my experience, the different tiger barbs will shoal together.............the green and albinos are just strains of the regular tiger barb, pretty much the same fish in different colors.......

The balloon mollies would be ok with your other fish, but i have read that they have a shortened lifespan due to the genetics of specialized breeding to get them to look the way they do...........They have a curved spine which shortens their life, from what i have read

Yeah, read that too about Tigers.....wasn't sure if it was true with Cherries as well. Maybe if I can I'll get a mix, three normal and three Albino

Yup, I've read that about the Balloons as well, went and googled them after my brother decided he liked them. The poor things....at least if I do end up with them I can offer them a healthy life however long they may live...*shrugs*

Alright, headed off to the LPS tomorrow. Any last minute suggestions before I let my brother go nuts in the fish section?

Alright, just got back from the LPS.....brother ended up staying home with dad...so it was all up to me....didn't get anything.
No Cherry Barbs, like.....two Balloon Molly....really looking closely they don't have as wide of a selection as I had once thought. They have a few tetras, tons of Cichlids,......and unfortunately a variety of Gourami. I say unfortunately, because I'm seriously tempted :/
I do wonder though.....I'd never get less then two more Gourami and I'd make sure both were female....but I don't think Dwarfs would be good as....well, they're all males.....but I don't think two of a larger species would fit....comments? Just a thought really, tossing them out there for any advice....

I also saw this odd type of Gourami that I've never heard of....they were about an inch in length(obviously babies of course)and had a bright yellow body with red on their tails.....think Sunset Platy here. They were called....Golden something(deafeningly NOT Golden Gourami, I know what those look like) I'm headed off to see what I can find on google, but any idea what they might be? I'm curious about 'em...they were very pretty.
