Levels question

Hi guys.

Just got the test kit today... these are my levels

PH- 8.0
GH- 14dh
Nitrite- 0.8
Ammonia- 1.5mg

I stupidly tested the tank 5 minutes after adding the gravel from a friends tank... plus water lettuce and some sort of bio-booster. I don't know how that would have affected the readings...

Can someone tell me what I should do now? Should I wait for a couple days, then test it again? Do a water change? Do nothing? lol!

TIA..

What test kit did you get? Anyways, wait till tomorrow and test again. Do you have fish in there?

Hey,

I got the Tetratest "Laborett" master test kit.. It doesn't have Nitrate which kinda sucks, but whatever. I was going to get the API one, but I was talking to one of the people at the fish store and she said this is the one they use... (Big Al's) Plus it was $12 cheaper lol. Probably because it doesn't have Nitrate...

Okay I'll test again tomorrow. :)

The API test kit is the best buy for the money. It may cost more than some, but less than others. It is also more accurate than most.

You definitely need a nitrate test, should be able to get an API one for around $7, though if you can return the Tetratest and get the whole API that would be good.

Hey...

I already used the Tetratest one... I don't know if I could still return it! I think I saw the individual nitrate one for like $10...

Don't worry about the levels yet, like was said, wait to see what they do.

As for the test kit. From the looks of it, it the bottles are smaller and it may not do near as many tests as the larger and possibly better kits.
