LED light and plants

Ive got a 37 gallon tank with LED lighted hood. I'm not familiar at all with LED and plants ... are there any type of plants that would be ok?

Depends on the LEDs on the plants you can grow.

I know next to nothing about LEDs but can say you should be able to grow low light plants like Anubias and Java Fern.

Thanks! At the very least, I was hoping for just a few low light plants. Think I'll start with Anubias and go from there. Would love to put some vals in there but concerned they wouldn't do well. My gut is telling me plants wouldn't thrive at all with the LEDs and was hoping to hear otherwise.

The lights are the one that came with the tank, hood and stand. Didn't come with any type of specs.

Then I would definitely try Anubais first to see how it does if you csmt find any info on the lights.

Oh btw Welcome to Tropical fish keeping!

I have two tanks that I swap plants between... one is a 10K florescence, and the other is a 6.5K LED light strip.

Java Fern, Java Moss... plants of this nature do well in just about any light. They still grow very slowly, but nothing I have found really speeds that up. They have grown SLIGHTLY faster in the LEDs. The ones deeper in the tank, 22" or so, grow faster than the ones that are only a couple of inches below the waterline.

Amazon Swords are very light dependent. In high light situations, they grow out, lying low. In less light, they grow up. The ones that I moved from 10K to 6.5K actually curled and ruffled... very pretty. The 10K swords produce runners under the sand. The 6.5K swords send runners to the surface.

Water Wisteria under LEDs lives fine, but grows slowly. They resemble underwater trees. Under the 10K lights, with room, the Wisteria quickly becomes unruly. Looks more like a bog of choking plants.

Water wisteria, anarchris, bacopa, any other stem plants.

Nobody's life, liberty and happiness are safe when Congress is in session. Hallyx kindly reminded me that this statement is attributed to Mark Twain. Even more pertinent today then when he said it.
