The leaf fish is in our profiles, under the common name Leopard Ctenopoma. There is info on foods and feeding, click on the shaded name to see the profile.

Something we all need to remember: The fish you've acquired was quite happy not being owned by you, minding its own business. If you’re going to take it under your wing then you’re responsible for it. Every aspect of its life is under your control, from water quality and temperature to swimming space. [Nathan Hill in PFK]

What kind of leaf fish? The true leaf fish can be quite difficult to get to eat. How big is he? Try feeder guppies that are small enough for him to eat without a problem. Are the ghost shrimp small enough?

If he is a Leopard Ctenopoma, I find they do better on frozen than live.

Aquarium
They are carnivores. Mine eats just about anything. I feed her shrimp pellets, cichlid pellets, frozen foods, chopped fresh market shrimp, freeze dried plankton, FD Mysis shrimp, she'll even go for flake although she's a bit big to be eating that now. Occasionally I'll get her some ghost shrimp to hunt. If you have any small fish they will get eaten.

150 Gallon - Mostly American Cichlids
135 Gallon - Angelfish Community
75 Gallon - Odd couple (Polleni/Angelfish)
55 Gallon - African tank
20 Gallon Long - QT
10 Gallon - Empty
