Kids/fish tanks

Im upgrading to a 75g from a 46g bowfront in my living room.........right now my son is 7 1/2 months old so he will be up and walking in a few months.........should i be worried about the tank? should i attach it to the wall somehow (open to suggestions) or do you think it will be okay? im trying to avoid HOB's so i can get it as close to the wall as possible, but i might end up using one anyway.............anybody else with little ones that have any tips?
Thanks,
Robb

Something to remember is that you tank is massive compared to your kid. A 75 gallon tank weighs close to 750 pounds. If you have a decent stand and the usual pile of fish gear stuffed in it the whole thing probably weighs in at half a ton or more. The odds of your toddler to be moving that in any real way is about the same as you getting a 15,000 pound monument to move. Unless your tank stand is horribly unstable the worst your kid can do is bump the tank and maybe make the fish jump.

If you're really concerned about it you can see about maybe securing the stand to the studs in the wall with some kind of bolt, tie, or screws.

I would not place a tank too close to the wall. condensation over time does funny things to paint and wall paper. Be sure and place any background on the glass before you place it in it's final posistion. And take the time to ensure that the tank sit's level. but then you know all this don't you? Congrats on the son!

The most important medication in your fish medicine cabinet is.. Clean water.
